Teacher's Gifts inspired by Studio Calico

With the end of term fast approaching this year I have been super organised and made teachers presents.  I decided to use a beautiful digital template from the Sugar Rush kit by Studio Calico.  Rather than using pictures in the template I filled the spaces with the colours already in the image to create a colourful heart.  At the bottom of the heart I used the Century Gothic font to write "athrawes orau" best teacher in Welsh.

Once I was happy with the colours and the positioning I printed the design to check everything was ok.  I am so glad I did as the colours looked a bit washed out so I upped the red colours and then was happy with the finished look.

Finally I could print out the flipped image ready to iron on the bags and after about an hour behind a hot iron I ended up with 9 bags that looked like this:

Here's a close up of the heart (I love this design):

What did you make/give this year?  Let me know in the comments below:

Fountains at Cardiff Bay

A fun page for Shimelle's Sketch of the week celebrating our love of the fountains in Cardiff Bay.  Another Digi layout using Cosmo Cricket's Snorkel Alphabet and papers and twill from Splendid Fiins all from Jessica Sprage's shop.

Shimelle's Scrapbook Sketch of the Week

I've been wanting to take part in the sketch of a week for a while but not had much time.  Decided today to take her latest one and have a play with it digi style.  I bought Echo Park's For The Record Element Pack 1 and Recipe Cards in last week's One Buck Wednesday and have been itching to use them ever sine.  In the Element Pack 1 there was a sheet of paper already divided into quarters and when I saw Shimelle's Sketch I instantly thought of this paper.  Here's my finished layout:

Posing for Mamgu (Welsh for Grandmother)
Journalling reads: Kids posing in the hallway to take cute pix for mamgu's driftwood frame.

Not much crafting but having fun at the Sessions!

I've had 3 shift's at the Active Living Centre in Bettws over the last few weeks so my weekends have been very busy and that knocks onto my crafting time.  The only thing I have done since Wednesday is a quick digital LO following the Scrapbooking with a Digital Template course at Big Picture Classes.  I seem to have fallen out of love with digital scrapbooking for the moment, I'm sure I'll enjoy it again but doing this LO didn't light my fire!

On Friday night we went to the Sessions and Open Mic Night at the Riverfront.  It's a Boutique Market held in the foyer of the theater with some lovely stalls.  My favorite was By Charlie's Hand, she does the most amazing papercuts on a huge variety of subjects.  At the moment I can't decide between this butterfly heart one and this lace heart one.  It will probably be the butterfly but am taking a couple of weeks to decide.  There was also a book stall that A loved, he managed to pick up a couple of rare books so he was a happy bunny. Other lovely stalls included Ginger Pig Designs, Jewellery by Rachel Mary (love the Lego collections, great gift ideas!), Emma Passey Design and Rachel Kinchen's Vintage Shop (could have spent a fortune on Vintage buttons).

Sessions is on the second Friday of every month, so looking forward to June's already.
