Lovin ArtsyCrafts and Tim Holtz

Got back from a great weekend away yesterday lunchtime and it's been non stop since then.
Should have booked today off work to recover but didn't think of that before hand. Here's a couple of pix of my creations while I was away.

This is the beautiful house we created in Lin and Leandra's class. I learned so much in this class - can't wait for their new paints to be released.

Then we went to Tim's class where we created this:

It's not finished yet I've a few things to add - a couple boxes left to fill as well as the feet to place on the bottom. Here's the stash I bought - I'm sure I'll find something in here to fill it!

Last night I spent some time playing with my new toy... The Vagabond.

OMG it's brilliant! Cuts through everything with ease. Can't wait to show you what I create from it.

Off to play with my Tim Holtz TSV now, the first time for me with alcohol inks!

I'm finally here!

Been looking forward to this for ages! It's finally time for ArtsyCrafts - my dayout with Tim, Leandra and Lin. At the moment I'm relaxing in my hotel room l after a busy day sorting the family out and driving to Newport Pagnell. Tonight I managed to get some food at the Bar, meet some lovely people who are on the courses tomorrow (or later today) and get some scrapbooking done. Here's a look at the desk in the room and my bed.

Finished scrapbooking now, just trying to get some sleep as I have an early start in the morning.

WOYWW 23 February 2011

Hi everyone, no workdesk for me today as I have just come back from a few days in Carmarthen with my folks.  While wondering around the town centre (you must go... Debenhams, Costa Coffee, Next, New Look, Fat Face, Quicksliver, and many more) I came across a bargain in Emrys Art Supplies.  Stickles, Distress Stickles, Alcohol Ink and Crackle Accents all around £2 a bottle - Stickles are £3.50 in my local Hobbycraft so looking at the pic above you can see I've saved a fortune!  If you're ever in the area go and check out the shop or they do mail order through their website as well.

Must go and pack now, 2 nights away and a Friday with Tim Holtz.

Dadcu - a sneaky peak

Here's a little sneak peak at mini book I just finished off for my dad today. It's not his birthday until Friday (yes I booked to see Tim Holtz on my dad's birthday but he is going away with my mum that weekend) so a better look will be available after the birthday boy has had a look.

Friday 18 February 2011

Friday5 - 18/02/11

1. It's 7 days until Tim Holtz. OMG I'm so nervous. So nervous! I'll probably just sit in the corner and not say anything to anyone!

2. Fed up today. One of my many jobs is in a sky call centre upgrading existing customers. I'm fed up of customers upgrading to sky sports just of the cricket. I already know far too much about the cricket world cup! I'll be glad when it's over.

3. Going to Carmarthen on Sunday. Looking forward to catching up with family a looking round some of the craft shops in West Wales.

4. Did I say it was 7 days to Tim Holtz? Before ArtsyCrafts he's doing a TSV on QVC and I was gutted to find out that the TSV is not going to be the Vagabond. We've got to wait even longer for it to be released in the UK - it won't be available til the end of March. When I saw the demo of it at CHA in January last year I knew it was the die cutter of choice but to have to wait 14 months for it I may just go and by a big shot.

5. The TSV looks like it going to be stamps or inks. I'm a bit disappointed with the examples on the QVC website but I'm sure Tim will come up with some great ideas. Can't wait - it should be a good week.

WOYWW - 16/02/11

Here's my desk today. I'm supposed to be working on the butterfly card with some beautiful House of 3 downloads which i printed on photo paper but currently I'm watching Grey's Anatomy instead. Love this program especially the way that Christina Yang's character has completely changed after last seasons huge Finale. Sandra Oh is brilliant actress.

Back to the crafting. Finally finished the mini book yesterday so look out for it on the blog soon.

Questions Answered

Thank for all the comments recently. Here are a few answers to some of the questions I've received.

1. Here's the 18th birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago.

The 18 uses Junkitz paper distressed with vintage photo distress ink. I love the background paper it's plain white paper pressed into gold paint and water and left to dry then more distressing with vintage photo. Loving this distress ink and the moment.

2. The pots on my desk from WOYWW pic couple of weeks ago are bath salts from The Body Shop. Got them in the Xmas sales and I'm just waiting for some birthdays to give them away.

3. The baskets are actually a hot pink colour and were a set of 3 from Asda for £3 (I think). Know they were 2 for £5 so I got 6 baskets for a fiver. Bargain. They are made a really soft plastic so are really bench. I've got 1 in the kitchen (a blue one) and 1 in the bathroom (a white one) and the rest in the bedroom holding my craft stuff.

4. Finally here's a sneak of the
mini book I've been making:

See you tomorrow for another WOYWW.

4lbs!

I managed to lose 4lbs at Weight Watchers this week so with 1lbs last week I have lost a total of 9.5lbs in 3 weeks. That's brilliant I know but when you have as much weight as I have to lose it's nothing. Not sure this week is going to be good as I've had a bad weekend and an Indian takeaway tonight (did make healthy choices - Tandoori Chicken and Saag Aloo. It was delicious.

Friday5 - 11/2/11

1. It's 14 days to Tim Holtz... OMG 14 days! OMG!

2. Not had much time to craft this week as on Tuesday night I had the opportunity to review Energia the Holiday on Ice show for the South Wales Argus, a local newspaper.

3. The show was fantastic, brilliant, excellent well worth going to see. The ice skaters were all amazing as were the Cardiff Academy of Ice Skating. If you get a chance to see a holiday on ice show you must take it.

4. Even more behind with my crafting today as an accident on the M4 prevented me from coming home while my youngest was in Meithrin (nursery) and I ended up going for a long walk around Spytty Retail Park instead. Had a lovely time looking round the shops as I don't normally get time to do that. Next had some great ideas for my daughter's bedroom as I've promised her a redesign this year.

5. Will post pix of my finished projects either Sunday or Monday as I'm working two jobs tomorrow so won't get time then.

WOYWW - 9/2/11

Wow! Thanks for all the great comments on last weeks photo. I'm hoping to get round and leave loads of comments this week as well. My pic this week is of my bed as I'm taking it over while making a mini book present for a friend.

Been a good girl this week and I've tidied up my crafting desk. I only get a small corner of the bedroom to keep all my stash so to have a tidy desk really helps.

Friday5 - 4/2/11

1. It's 21 days to PaperArtsy with Tim Holtz.

2. It was my birthday yesterday. I had a lovely quiet day, in-between all the school runs.

3. I got 2 Glee albums (no's 2 and 3), some craft bits (from Poundland!), 2 journals, Mrs Beeton's Everyday Cook book, a bottle of Cava and a bottle of Rose and some chocolates. Brilliant presents, thanks everyone.

4. My big present is to go for a day with "Tim Holtz". I think this will be the first time in about 8 years I have had a night all on my own, no kids and no husband. Can't wait! But also I'm glad I've only booked 2 nights away - I'll be missing them like crazy.

5. I'm feeling lousy today, I booked a couple of nights off work and instead of enjoying them I've been feeling rotten. Why does it always happen like this? Back in work tomorrow - teaching swimming in the morning!

WOYWW 2nd February 2011

Joining in with What's on you Workdesk Wednesday for the first time, here's my desk today, I'm currently making an 18th birthday card for a friend.

4.5lbs

4.5lbs That's what I lost weight Watchers this week. The weigh in was on Saturday and I was so disappointed with the result it took some Art Journalling about it tonight to get it out of my system. Now, don't get me wrong it's a really good result but when you've got loads to lose 4.5 doesn't seem much in the first week. I'm hoping for the same again this week so I can conquer the first half stone. Wish me luck.
